About your new role

A revenue generating role, to sell products to new prospects and existing clients. To assist in developing an appropriate sales lifecycle for legal software products and assist with the sale of any other legal services products from time to time. The products you’ll be expected to sell will be newly launched to the business and in many cases, new to the industry. You will be updated on products that are in the various stages of development.  
 
  • Prospecting: 

  • Use modern techniques to prospect new clients to build a pipeline of marketing and sales qualified leads 

  • Cold-calling for new business generation and new prospects to build a pipeline of marketing and sales qualified leads 

  • Attend events where appropriate, to network and position products to target audience 

  • Work with internal teams to establish pipeline of opportunities within our existing client portfolio, including upselling and cross selling across the business 

  • Highly skilled in effective discovery and questioning skills  

  • Creating sales proposals 

  • That are commercial, with effective influence, that sell the Weightmans business and can lead to an effective negotiation  

  • Ability to do follow up on all prospects  

  • Negotiating: 

  • Negotiate with true commercial acumen, holding margin and value and not necessarily negotiating on price within acceptable price boundaries as defined on a product-by-product basis, and as may change from time to time 

  • To create opportunities to upsell to create the most client focussed package for them 

  • Closing: 

  • Close all opportunities based on targets, agreed together based on market conditions.  

  • Service behaviours: 

  • To reflect best practice service behaviours for the relevant client including appropriate check ins 

  • Reporting and measurement 

  • Objectives and key responsibilities to ensure validity of products, working with parameters  

  • Continual development / mentoring is part of this role  

  • General activity and productivity will be rewarded with an agreed bonus scheme  

 

Other responsibilities  

  • Work closely with Product Manager to collect insight from prospects through the sales cycle on price, functionality and product improvements 

  • Work closely with Product Owner and Product Specialist to get the assistance you need to sell technical products and demonstrate products to clients.

About You

Ideally you will have previous experience of working in a similar role and in a similar environment.
  
As the role is varied, we are looking for you to have the following : - 
  
  • Experience of some aspects of the sales lifecycle.
  • Prospecting - experience prospecting and running sales through a defined product lifecycle (even if not responsible for the other stages).
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Commercially aware and astute
  • Self starter, driven, using own initiative  
  •  Understand sales from customer perspective
  • Sales confidence and sales resilience – able to deal with knock back
  • Excellent relationship building, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to form strong relationships with the team, prospects and clients.
