About your new role

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Technical Design Lead to join our dynamic development team. This role is pivotal in guiding and ensuring the successful execution of technical design within our software projects. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in software development, possess a passion for clean code and software craftsmanship, and be dedicated to upholding best practices in software engineering. If you are an individual with a strong technical aptitude, a penchant for mentoring and research, and the desire to drive incremental improvements, we encourage you to apply.

  • Collaborate with development teams to promote and facilitate best practices, continuous improvement, and the successful delivery of change initiatives.
  • Conduct proof of concept work to assess the feasibility of new technologies, approaches, and design patterns.
  • Provide technical mentoring to development teams, fostering a culture of learning and skill development.
  • Engage in research and development activities related to emerging technologies and areas of future interest to our organization.
  • Lead knowledge sharing exercises within the IT Applications team, enhancing cross-team collaboration and skills development.
  • Work closely with the Infrastructure Technical Design Lead and Head of IT Applications to contribute to the formulation of our application strategy.
  • Participate in solution architecture discussions and decisions, ensuring that technical designs align with the organization's objectives and architectural standards.

About You

  • A solid background in software development, particularly with experience in an object-oriented language.
  • A commitment to software craftsmanship, clean code, solid principles, and service-oriented architecture.
  • Desirable experience with Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms, contributing to the organization's cloud-centric initiatives.
