About your new role

Assist the Head of Digital and Digital Manager in implementing strategic and effective firmwide digital activity/initiatives designed to support profitable revenue growth and new client acquisition. Provide technical digital marketing knowledge.

Strategy:

  • Assisting in the execution of the firm’s digital strategy. Supporting the Head of Digital and Senior Digital Exec with effective communication of that strategy to the wider firm
  • Input into the generation, development and implementation of new ideas, systems or procedures which will improve the firm’s approach to and delivery of digital activity
  • Analyse the performance of competitors and best practice from other industries and make recommendations to improve our strategy and campaigns
  • Maintain relationships with external agencies to execute the digital strategy and to assist in the generation of new ideas
  • Building relationships with Partners, fee earners, secretarial and management teams to ensure that digital best practices are followed
  • Keep up to date with the latest developments in digital marketing and assist in keeping strategies up to date.
 Targeting/reporting:
  • Support the team with the measurement of the performance of digital marketing activity and provide timely and accurate reports, e.g. through use of website analytics; through use of email marketing data; through use of data gathered by social media analytics tools
  • Use data to analyse the effectiveness of digital activity, ROI delivered and make recommendations to improve future efficacy.
 Website:
  • Act as a champion for the firm’s website and make regular updates to the site to support the firm’s digital strategy
  • Train users of the website content management system on its effective use as well as advising on technical best practices for content
  • Help to ensure that content added to the firm’s website (and any associated websites) complies with accessibility requirements and, in appropriate areas, maximises lead generation. Provide training to the Campaigns team on best practices
  • Support the execution of the firm’s SEO strategy e.g. keyword research, optimising internal linking, technical optimisation
  • Take an active role in the execution and development of the website content strategy
  • Lead on the development of key areas of the website to increase search traffic and improve conversion.
 Social media:
  • Work closely with the Campaigns team and PR team on content to be published to the firm’s social media platforms
  • Provide training to lawyers and members of the wider marketing team on the effective use of social media
  • Take ownership of online advertising, using platforms such as Google Ads and LinkedIn to increase brand awareness and generate leads
  • Monitor and respond to online reviews, liaising with compliance team and client partners where appropriate.
 Email marketing:
  • Plan and prepare marketing emails and their delivery through the firm’s email marketing system
  • Provide training to the Campaigns and Internal Communications teams to ensure they have the skills to use our email marketing system to best effect and to maximise deliverability and open rates.

About You

As the role is varied, we are looking for you to have a flexible approach to the work you do and be able to adapt to different tasks. We are also looking for you to have/be:

  • At least one year marketing experience, with a digital marketing focus
  • Proven experience as a Digital Executive or in a similar role
  • Knowledge of at least one field of digital marketing
  • A strong technical background
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing concepts and best practices
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Commercially aware and astute
  • A track record of delivering web, SEO, email and social media projects
  • Knowledge of content management systems and website analytics tools
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and analytics tools
  • Up to date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement
  • Project management and organisational skills
  • Persuading and influencing skills
  • Confident, assertive and self-motivated
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
  • Knowledge of HTML and other front end programming languages would be an advantage
  • Flexible the individual will be required to spend time in the other Weightmans offices.
