About your new role

 
Our HR & Development  team is made up a number of teams that work together to support Weightmans' people issues and processes, including: business support; employee relations; learning & development; Early Careers; payroll & benefits; and recruitment.
 
We are recruiting for an Early Careers Development Advisor to join the team in Liverpool. The role is identifying, designing, delivering and evaluating learning and development programmes for our early careers cohorts (apprentices and trainee solicitors) including professional skills training and induction programmes

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Conducting regular structured coaching sessions with apprentices and trainee solicitors to assist their development
  • Design, implementation and delivery of work experience programme(s) with the support of the EC team
  • Promoting our early careers programmes through the delivery of virtual and in-person open evenings and law fairs
  • Supporting the business objectives by identifying training/coaching needs and providing solutions in an annual training programme
  • Evaluating effectiveness of all training programmes and amending and revising programmes as necessary
  • Capturing ongoing training needs by working collaboratively with key stakeholders to ensure all training meets the business needs
  • Working closely with EC team and supporting them in their activities with apprentices and trainees.

About You

 
Ideally, you will have some experience of working in a similar environment and a genuine interest in the above area of work.
As the role is varied, we are looking for you to have a flexible approach to the work you do and be able to adapt to different tasks.
It would be preferable but not essential for you to have:
 
  • A qualification in Learning & Development or comparable expertise through experience (3-5 years experience would be desirable)
  • Experience of working in an operational L&D role
  • Knowledge of a range of learning and development methods to support the embedding of knowledge, skills and behaviours
  • Proven ability to work with and influence all levels of employees
  • Excellent understanding of different learning styles
  • Excellent people skills, seeking to bring out the best in others
  • Excellent design, development and delivery capability
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills
  • Strong coaching skills
  • Fully proficient at Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook (Microsoft Office)

 

Desirable

  • Certification in psychometric testing and/or personality profiling (e.g. Discovery Insights)
  • Experience of training delivery over webinar and/or video conferencing
  • Coaching qualification
