About your new role

We invite those of you who are considering a career in law to apply for our virtual Legal Insights Programme (LIP). The programme is aimed at those of you who are 16 years of age (year 12 students or equivalent) and above to apply. You do not have to be currently studying.

Our aim is to provide you with enough information and resources to decide if you would like to pursue a career in law. The Legal Insights Programme will give you an insight into how a law firm works, what we do here at Weightmans, and what legal career pathways are available to you.

Our last programme included the below sessions:

  • An introduction to Weightmans and what solicitors do
  • The opportunity to meet some key local people from the business
  • Different career pathways in law
  • Going to university versus apprenticeships
  • Interactive session on different areas of law
  • Jargon busting and legal terminology
  • Interactive training on key interpersonal skills and introduction to professional behaviour
  • A review of what we have learnt

Sessions will be running on the following weeks in April 2025:

Intake One - Tuesday 8 April & Wednesday 9 April

Intake Two - Tuesday 15 April & Wednesday 16 April

Those who successfully complete the virtual sessions will then be invited to apply for our in-person work experience programme. This will provide an insightful and invaluable opportunity to see what life is like at a law firm, and to get hands-on experience working directly with one of our many teams at Weightmans.

More details about our in-person work experience will be provided at a later date.

About You
