About your new role

Join our Information Systems team, where we deliver a wide range of services including computing and network support, IT equipment management, specialist software solutions, and enterprise-level system support.

As a full stack developer, you will work with the .NET platform and Microsoft technologies, contributing to the development, maintenance, and support of enterprise-standard solutions, both independently and collaboratively. You will also participate in pair programming across a diverse range of products, from ground-up developments to applying interactive front-end UI components to predictive modelling projects.

We prioritise continuous learning and encourage team members to dedicate time each week for personal development. You'll have access to multiple training libraries to support this growth. Our team meets monthly in Liverpool to discuss development processes and explore improvements.

 This is a nationwide opportunity with flexible working options: two days in the office and three days from home. The role is open to candidates who would be based in our Liverpool, Manchester, or London offices, with occasional travel to our Liverpool office (with expenses covered) required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance software components as part of our Applications Development Team, working within both collaborative and independent environments.
  • Engage in pair programming to deliver high-quality solutions across a variety of projects, including predictive modelling and in-house development.
  • Adhere to coding standards and development procedures, ensuring consistent and measurable results.
  • Work in an Agile framework and an ISO 27001 compliant development environment.
  • Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve potential issues before they escalate.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our processes and solutions.
  • Collaborate in monthly face-to-face meetings to discuss current development procedures and identify areas for improvement.

About You

Required Experience

  • 2+ years as a developer, with demonstrable examples of work showcasing your skills in .NET technologies and full stack development.
  • Experience in developing and supporting enterprise-grade applications in a commercial setting.

Essential Skills

  • Proficient in C#, .NET Core, and the .NET Framework.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL-based databases, including SQL Server (T-SQL).
  • Experience working with Azure cloud services.
  • Hands-on experience with Visual Studio (latest version).
  • Knowledge of front-end development technologies, including HTML5, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery.
  • Awareness of modern UI frameworks like Vue.js or Angular.
  • Familiarity with web development standards, OWASP, and SOLID coding principles.
  • Experience in Agile methodologies and test-driven development (TDD).

Desirable Skills

  • Understanding of ISO 27001 standards and information security practices.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices, enhancing the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Awareness of modern DevOps practices, particularly around continuous integration and deployment.
