About your new role

We are currently recruiting for a Team Manager (Specialty) who will be responsible for leading a high-performing team, ensuring operational excellence and delivery of financial and client performance objectives. The role will focus on driving profitability, service quality and client satisfaction, alongside developing people, improving processes and supporting strategic growth.

The Team Manager will work collaboratively with the Head of Client Delivery and wider business functions to deliver exceptional outcomes for clients while maintaining compliance with legal and regulatory standards.

We are open to applications from Specialty Lawyers with experience in Team Management and non-Lawyers with a background in Team Operations Management in other professional services or legal environments.

Accountabilities

  • Deliver exceptional quality of service, ensuring client satisfaction, retention and value delivery
  • Oversee service delivery against agreed KPIs, SLAs and client expectations
  • Support client relationship management and act on feedback to drive continuous improvement
  • Ensure billing and client work are completed in line with agreed service standards
  • Develop thought leadership initiatives (e.g. events, webinars, content) to support client engagement

  • Drive operational and financial performance including revenue, profitability and utilisation targets
  • Monitor financial metrics including WIP and cash collection to ensure delivery against budget
  • Identify growth opportunities and support business development within target sectors
  • Implement pricing strategies aligned with firm profitability protocols
  • Collaborate across teams and functions (HR, Finance, Data & MI, Innovation) to deliver firm-wide success
  • Lead or contribute to strategic initiatives that drive process improvement and innovation

Focus
  • Primarily a leadership and management role focused on team performance and delivery
  • Driving operational excellence, process efficiency and continuous improvement

  • Ensuring high quality legal service delivery aligned to client expectations
  • Identifying capability gaps and strengthening expertise across the team

About You

You will ideally have previous experience and a demonstrable track record of managing teams within a professional services or legal environment.

We are particularly interested in individuals who bring strong operational leadership experience and the ability to drive both performance and client outcomes.

You will have:

  • Experience managing and developing high-performing teams
  • Strong commercial awareness with a focus on profitability and efficiency
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Demonstrable experience in client relationship management at a senior level
  • Strategic thinking and ability to identify growth opportunities
