Our Casualty Fraud Team team provides a full, expert service in claims validation, investigation and where necessary defence of public (PL) and employers' liability (EL) claims, across the private sector and the public sector. Weightmans' team is second-to-none in providing defendant litigation services in these and other specialist Casualty areas. We operate on a national basis with dedicated commercial insurance and public sector teams and as part of our wider specialism we have a dedicated Casualty Fraud team which is part of our National Firm Fraud insurance claims service offering.
We are currently recruiting for a number of fee earner roles and are looking for enthusiastic and experienced individuals - i.e.Paralegal/Litigation Executive/ Casualty Solicitor/Legal Executive up to 7 YRS+ PQE to join ourteam.
Working in the dedicated Casualty Fraud team based out of Manchester you will have your own caseload of predominantly fast track fixed fee claims (and/ or some multi track depending on experience). We receive direct instructions from both insureds and insurers, as well as having a fraud identification system in place which drives internal referrals and advisory for a wide range of cases involving commercial, public sector and insurance clients nationally.
Under supervision, you will be responsible for the running of the day to day of your cases including liaising with clients, opponents, court, witnesses and undertaking your own liability investigations. We have a specialist team to undertake intelligence searches and any required counter fraud enquiries beyond any client’s own handling preference.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Predominantly PI including EL, PL and Highways
- Personal Injury Housing Claims
- Complete MI procedures as and when required
- Achieve set financial and chargeable targets
- Ensure relevant deadlines, SLAs, quality measures and KPI’s are adhered to
- Comply with relevant policies and procedures
- Work in accordance with Weightmans’ values
You may also be required to carry out tasks that fall within the wider remit of the role and will have the opportunity to engage in client based initiatives.
We are currently recruiting for individuals with a casualty insurance claims background which is essential. Fraud handling experience is desirable. Experience of defendant local authority insurance claims are also desirable.
