About your new role

Weightmans is currently recruiting for an experienced Paralegal to join our growing Casualty team in Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Leicester or Birmingham.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious, experienced Paralegal looking to develop their career within a highly regarded defendant insurance practice. You'll work alongside experienced lawyers on a broad range of casualty matters, acting for insurers, large corporates, public sector bodies, and other leading clients.

This role offers exposure to high-quality work, a collaborative team environment and the opportunity to work with a wide range of clients across the insurance sector. Key Responsibilities

Assist with the management of a varied caseload of casualty claims.
Support solicitors and senior lawyers in the handling of litigated and pre-litigated matters.
Draft correspondence, court documents, pleadings, instructions to counsel and witness statements.
Review liability evidence, medical records, schedules of loss and disclosure documentation.
Conduct legal research and prepare case summaries.
Liaise with clients, insurers, witnesses, experts and third parties.
Attend client meetings and, where appropriate, court hearings.
Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with client service standards, court deadlines and regulatory requirements.
Manage your own caseload under supervision, where appropriate.

About You

We are interested in hearing from experienced Paralegals who have / can demonstrate:

Previous Paralegal experience within litigation, insurance or personal injury.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and analytical abilities.
Experience managing multiple priorities and working to tight deadlines.
Experience handling Casualty, Employers' Liability (EL), Public Liability (PL) or defendant personal injury claims.
Experience working with insurer clients.
