About your new role

Our Healthcare team is a vibrant specialist department. We provide advice on all aspects of healthcare law, including clinical negligence, EL/PL, patient safety, human rights and mental health. The ethos of the team is to work hard for our clients so that we secure the right outcome for them. We continuously strive to improve our technical skills and enhance our ability to meet the clients’ needs as they evolve. The healthcare sector is fast moving and the challenge of working for our clients provides very interesting work. The successful candidate will be highly motivated to develop their own and our teams’ practices. We provide a supportive environment in which to work.

We are currently have a number of opportunities available with in our Healthcare team, ranging from Solicitor, Associate & Senior Associate. 

These roles can be based in all of our locations apart from Glasgow.

Main duties and responsibilities

Top quality case handling from the commencement to the conclusion of a case (in accordance with experience), both independently and assisting others where required

Work to strict internal and client SLAs and KPIs

MI completion

Achievement of operational targets

Work in accordance with Weightmans’ values

About You

You will be a qualified solicitor with 3 years+ PQE. We have a number of positions available – from the more junior right up to senior level. We are looking for you to have a flexible approach to the work you do and be able to adapt to different tasks. We also require:

  • Good quality clinical negligence experience. NHS Resolution clinical experience preferable
  • Knowledge of CPR procedure with proven technical ability
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines and timescales
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
