About your new role

Weightmans' Intelligence Team provide expert desktop investigation and insight services to Weightmans' teams and clients. The work of the team is really varied, and we provide investigative support to clients in relation to many different types of legal disputes and investigations.

In order to support our exciting plans for the future, we are seeking to recruit an Intelligence Support Assistant. 

The Intelligence Support Assistant role undertakes fraud data screening and triage, intelligence administration and online searches, liaison with other organisations and adds value to the intelligence database through improving data quality, data input and weeding. The role is also important in managing and maintaining fraud identification technology. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately entering and weeding data onto the Weightmans’ intelligence database.
  • Developing and implementing methods to automatically improve data quality, data entry and weeding.
  • Utilising the intelligence database to conduct fraud screening, initial searching to progress case files or proactive intelligence work.
  • Linking key intelligence, documents, sources on the intelligence database.
  • Grading intelligence accurately according to its provenance.
  • Accurately collating schedules, supporting the team with administration and queries to support intelligence team management, billing and recording disbursements accurately.
  • Undertake one off searches in accordance with the relevant legislation, such as claim history checks and vehicle checks, etc.
  • Make compliant requests for information in accordance with the Data Protection Act. 
  • Handle confidential information including data screening checks on internal employees in accordance with the firm’s data protection and information security protocols.
  • Cleansing data and identifying inconsistency and data quality issues, and rectifying these.
  • Administering data screening and fraud identification technology.
  • Liaising with clients to deliver shadowing day inputs, data screening results and technical advice.

You will also ensure that you comply with the relevant Weightmans' and client policies and procedures, and consistently work in accordance with our values.

About You

As the role is varied, we are looking for you to have a flexible approach to the work you do and be able to adapt to different tasks. We also require you to have:
  • Excellent communication skills; both written and confident verbal communication.
  • Strong administration skills, gained through one or more years within a professional environment, private or public sector.
  • Experience of data entry and database manipulation or management.
  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent (including Maths and English).
  • Strong IT skills with a good working knowledge of Excel, Word, and strong keyboard skills.
  • Confident with numbers with an outstanding attention to detail and ability to work with a high level of accuracy.
  • A co-operative and discreet team player who is able to work effectively within a pressurised environment and to tight deadlines.
  • Proactive with a drive to succeed.
  • Excellent organisation skills.
